Because this ‘revelation’ is completely untrue, and anyone with a basic understanding of biology will immediately recognise it as such. But if you are proposing divine creation as an alternative to evolution, then you will need a plausible answer to the simple question of why an all-powerful creator needed to use DNA at all, for …

Why do so many write the word God with the lower case g, even when they are speaking of the Creator?
Which ‘Creator’ would that be? There are hundreds of Creation myths, and they all feature different protagonists, with different names, who have totally different fictional biographies. The deity of the Bible, for instance, already has a name which we can render into English as ‘Jehovah’, with a capital J. If you want to talk about that guy …
How did humans come up with the idea of god, if we cannot think of something that doesn’t exist or are unaware of?
Of course we can think of something that doesn’t exist. I have seen dogs and I have seen birds, so I can think of flying dogs, and big birds with teeth that chase sticks and chew bones. The fiction section of your local library is full of books about things that don’t exist. As it …
How can an atheist explain the spiritual world?
What is ‘the spiritual world’? Can you get, say, fifty people from different religious and mystical traditions to agree on what ‘the spiritual world’ is, and what its constituents are? Because without that, there isn’t anything to explain. Some people believe in things for which they have no evidence. If they all happened to believe …

Why do some scientists still believe Darwinism explains all life?
There is no such thing as ‘Darwinism’. The theory of evolution by natural selection, which is what you are probably referring to, doesn’t attempt to explain ‘all life’. What it explains is how and why new species come into being. Evolutionary theory has nothing specific to say about the origins of life, although it does …

What if the proof of God’s existence is beyond the mind? What if the reasons not to believe are the wrong ones?
If we can’t understand any of the reasons for believing in gods, then we have no reasons for believing in gods. If something is ‘beyond our understanding’ then we have to ignore it, because we can’t do anything else.
Why doesn’t an atheist believe in creation and God? How does he believe in all that science say and don’t think that there is God or a higher power?
Most atheists are atheists because they see no reason to believe in any gods. And science doesn’t provide any. It doesn’t deal with ‘explanations’ involving gods, because we have no way of testing them. What it does do is to provide alternative explanations that work; these allow us to control and predict events and phenomena that we couldn’t …
Why is it so difficult to reason with creationists even when there are mountains of evidence presented?
Because being a creationist, for most people, is not about knowing the truth or explaining the data. It’s a badge that you wear to show how devout you are. Nearly all the people who claim that they ‘don’t believe in’ the theory of evolution have no idea what it says or how it is supposed …
Are atheists less compassionate than spiritual individuals?
There’s no objective way to identify ‘spiritual individuals’. But there’s no evidence to indicate that atheists are any less compassionate than non-atheists.
Don’t you find it odd that the more we remove God from the world, the worse this world gets?
‘The world’ for most humans is getting objectively better on every recognised scale. And people who live in secular countries tend to be happier, richer, longer-lived and more productive than those who live in predominantly religious countries. The notion that the world is getting worse is a theist myth fostered by apocalyptic movements that feed …
